Open Discussion on the 2026 State Budget

The State Budget is not just about numbers. It reflects the choices that shape our daily lives: what gets funded, what is prioritized, how resources are allocated, how the European Union participates, and what all this means for citizens and the economy.

These and many more issues will be discussed openly for the 7th consecutive year, on Friday, 20 March 2026, at the Bank of Greece (Main Building, 21 El. Venizelou St., Athens, 2nd floor, General Meetings Hall), with the 2026 State Budget as the central theme. The event is organized on the occasion of the publication of this year’s Citizens’ Budget, prepared by the research team “Budget Transparency”, under the scientific supervision of Associate Professor Katerina Savvaidou of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

The event is co-organized by the Jean Monnet Chair in Fiscal Governance in the European Union, the research team “Budget Transparency”, and the Institute of Fiscal and Economic Studies (IFES).
